A note-taker that stays in the room

Doctify Local Assistant records the consultation and turns the audio into text on your own computer, using an open speech model such as NVIDIA Parakeet or Whisper. The models are downloaded once; after that, transcription does not need an internet connection and the audio is not sent to a cloud service.

From the transcript, the Generate notes action asks an AI model to clean up and structure what was said into a draft clinical note. By default that model also runs locally on your computer. You choose the model that fits your machine: a smaller one is faster, a larger one writes better drafts.

The draft is a starting point, not a record. You read it, correct it and decide what goes into the patient's chart.

What you get

  • A transcript of the consultation, made on your computer.
  • A structured draft note generated from that transcript, which you edit.
  • For telehealth calls, the other side of the call can be recorded from your computer's system audio, only while you are recording.
  • Your notes saved on your computer, searchable, and linkable to each other with note links and @patient mentions.

Prefer to speak your own note instead? Use dictation. Need to check the literature after the visit? Use evidence search.

How it works

From consultation to draft note

  1. Press recordStart a note recording before or as the patient comes in.
  2. Talk as usualThe audio is transcribed on your computer by an open speech model.
  3. Generate the noteA local AI model drafts a structured note from the transcript.
  4. Review and copyEdit the draft, then copy it into your record system.

By default, nothing in these steps leaves your computer. Cloud transcription is only used if you turn it on yourself with your own key: see bring your own AI.

No, not in the default Local mode: speech recognition runs on your computer. The only way audio leaves it is if you choose OpenAI for note recording yourself, with your own API key, after a warning. See privacy.
Open speech models that run on your computer, such as NVIDIA Parakeet and Whisper. You download the model once and can switch to one that suits your computer.
No. It writes a draft from the transcript. You review and edit it, and you decide what goes in the record. It does not replace your clinical judgement.
Yes, once the speech and AI models are downloaded, transcription and note drafting run without an internet connection.
Doctify does not connect to your record system. You copy the note into it, or dictate straight into it with medical dictation.
