Speak instead of typing

Put the cursor where the text should go, hold the dictation shortcut and speak. When you release it, Doctify transcribes the audio on your computer and pastes the text into the app that has focus. On macOS and Windows this works in ordinary desktop apps and browser windows, so there is nothing to integrate with your record system.

Doctify puts the text on the clipboard, pastes it, and then restores what was on your clipboard before. On a Mac it needs the Accessibility permission to paste for you.

Made for clinical vocabulary

  • Add drug names, colleagues' names and local terms to your own dictionary so they are recognised.
  • Choose the local speech model that fits your computer, from fast to most accurate.
  • Dictation is unlimited: it runs on your hardware, so there is no word quota.

For a whole consultation rather than a few sentences, use consultation notes. If your computer is slow, you can optionally send dictation to OpenAI or Mistral with your own key: see bring your own AI.

If your record system runs as a desktop app or in a browser on macOS or Windows and accepts pasted text, dictation pastes into it. There is no integration to set up.
Not by default. Dictation is transcribed locally. Only if you choose OpenAI or Mistral for dictation yourself, with your own key, is the audio sent to that provider. See bring your own AI.
macOS requires it before one app can paste into another. Doctify uses it to paste the dictated text at your cursor.
Yes. Add words to your dictionary, such as drug names, colleagues and local terms, so the speech model recognises them.
